In today’s video and presentation, we’re blasting off into Space — both outer space and personal space! Students will explore when we all need a little personal space… and when it’s the perfect moment to invite friends or siblings to join us on our imaginary space missions.
Students will read If Your Abuelo is an Astronauta – a hilarious, high-flying bilingual picture book from the creators of If Your Babysitter Is a Bruja captures the love between grandchildren and long-distance grandparents, the complicated relationship between siblings, and the power of imagination.

Then, they’ll track and learn all the 18 space words, used by the characters who have big imaginations.

It’s a fun way to mix fiction with non-fiction.
A short video plus activities are included to teach about Point of View, especially the second point of view.

Students will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss personal space, as mentioned above.

And briefly talk about Character’s Arc – Change

In summary, this week we discussed space, personal space, character arc, point of view, and imagination. As usual, they will have opportunities to draw and write.

Suggestions for craft and experiments, based on space terms, will be provided.
